Pyxis CX won second place in the #Hack2Build organized by SAP with its project "Intelligent Data Enrichment Services (IDES)".
Pyxis CX won the second place in #Hack2build, SAP’s global hackathon.

It was its first experience in a hackathon and stood out for being the only Latin American company among the seven that competed: Epam, Aarini, Adesso, valantic, Accenture and Tech Mahindra.

The award obtained by Pyxis CX consists of support from SAP Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) to complete the project, turn it into a product that is accessible to others and can be marketed.

“The idea we presented brings value to the business. It is an opportunity,” said Ricardo Sanguinetti.

This type of event is gaining more and more ground in the ICT world because of its innovative nature and because it is profitable for the business. The tool consists of solving problems with experimental solutions and owes its name to its long duration. They encourage creativity, promote teamwork and thinking through challenges and playful proposals.

On this occasion, the competition took place from Monday, December 6 to Friday, December 10 and the modality was 100% remote. The Pyxian team, composed of Leandro Bertolami, Guillermo Polito, Mauro González, Eduardo Pérez and Ricardo Sanguinetti, impressed the jury made up of SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) executives with their six-minute speech in their Demo jam.

“We are very happy, especially for the effort we made. All working on different projects and with personal issues but very committed. The technology was new and that motivated us to give more, to want to learn and apply it on a daily basis,” summarized Guillermo Polito.

The challenge for this quintet was to investigate the functioning of the Kyma tool in order to use it to extend the e-commerce store. The challenge was to come up with an innovative, attractive, useful idea with business impact. “Our solution makes it possible to automate the enrichment of the store’s data using machine learning and Machine Learning technology,” explained Polito.

Intelligent Data Enrichment Services allows optimizing the user experience in different areas: improvements in search engine positioning, and accessibility by leveraging image recognition and giving meaningful information for people with disabilities.

The Pyxians were very enthusiastic about the challenge of participating in this hackathon as it involved an opportunity for knowledge and professional growth.

“It is being able to use new tools, change the paradigm, the way of doing things and get out of our comfort zone,” said Ricardo Sanguinetti.
